It's 11:35, I'm nowhere near done with my backlog of homework, and I have two exams tomorrow!
Yay for Advanced placement high school classes with "45 minutes of homework per night!"

You probably won't like hearing this (I know I didn't) but all of that will eventually benefit you because you're going to be much better prepared for college than many of your peers, and not just because you're getting the AP points, but because you're learning how to manage stress and a large workload. I skimmed through high school doing the absolute bare minimum so college hit me like a ton of bricks: exams, projects, homework, all of it. The habits you build in high school will pay off, I promise! Just stay on task and work hard and work smart and it'll be worth it in the end :)

+1

Uni + no study habits was a big mistake. I dropped out but still ended up carving out a great tech career.

The lesson here is, never try.

I know, it's just that time management is not on my list of skills that I do very well right now...
I start HW at 8, and finish up at 12:30 *sigh* it's hard work, but it'll come in handy one day I guess

My school doesn't offer IB, but some other schools in the district do. I hear it's like AP, but with a more international view on things? Still, I feel your pain dude :(

What irritates me is that at this stage, I've already pretty much decided what I want to do in the future and what subject I truly want to study. I love studying Geography (yes, I'm that kind of guy) and it's been my favourite subject for the past four years. It just irritates me that I am forced to take subjects that I'm inherently not very good at/don't enjoy very much, which will then affect my overall grade in the end.

Sure, I was given a range of subjects, but I was only allowed to pick six and they had to be under certain subject types such as languages, humanities, sciences etc. I may have had a choice, but it's like picking the least worst option.

The marking's brutal as well. If you get a Level 6 instead of a Level 7 in every subject, in the end, you end up losing 15% of your grade. I.e. 34 points rather than 42, not including any marks you get for TOK and your Extended Essay.
